About the role
Job summary
Elm Lodge Surgery is seeking a full-time (37.5 hours per week) Operations Manager who is passionate about working as part of our team to provide excellent patient-centred care. Main duties of the job The successful candidate will be a key part of the practice leadership team and will share our vision of excellent patient-centred care.
You will have experience leading high performing teams with compassion. Your main role will be taking responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the surgery reception and administration team. A high degree of confidentiality, sensitivity, discretion and tact is required.
Experience of working in a GP surgery is essential. Support and training for the role will be provided. The successful candidate will be expected to work fixed hours including some 8am starts and some 6:30pm finishes.
The surgery is open Monday to Friday.

Qualifications Essential Good general education to A Level or equivalent Desirable Degree level qualification in a subject related to management or business Vocational qualifications related to general practice administration or management Experience Essential Experience of working in a GP practice Experience of leading a team Key Skills Essential Excellent IT skills including MS Excel Excellent written and spoken skills in English Desirable Leading team meetings Handling HR matters including drafting contracts of employment, performance management and grievances Responding to complaints Processing documents and referrals in a GP practice Disclosure and Barring Service Check This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
