The role:

We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Theatre Practitioner to join our dynamic Operating Theatres team within the North Sector. You will play a key role in delivering high quality perioperative care across a wide range of surgical specialties, ensuring patient safety throughout every stage of their surgical journey. Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:

• Permanent (3 x 36 Hours & 1 x 21.6 Hours)
• Glasgow Royal Infirmary
• 24 Hour Rotational Shift Pattern

Key responsibilities:

As a Theatre Practitioner, you will provide specialist perioperative care to patients before, during and after surgery, working autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Once fully trained and competent, you will assist in preparing operating theatres and specialised equipment, support surgical procedures as both an anaesthetic and scrub practitioner, and monitor patients throughout their perioperative journey. You will assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care, ensuring it is delivered in line with professional standards, policies and best practice guidelines. The role requires close collaboration with surgeons, anaesthetists and colleagues across the multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, effective and person-centred care. You will also contribute to service improvement, support and mentor junior staff, participate in education and training activities, and help maintain a safe clinical environment through adherence to infection prevention, health and safety, medicines management and governance requirements.

Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:

• Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner with current professional registration.
• Knowledge of perioperative practice and patient-centred care delivery.
