Band 5 Staff Nurse (Endoscopy Unit) PLEASE NOTE: Sponsorship is not normally available for this vacancy - applicants must have the right-to-work in the UK for this role by their proposed start date.
An opportunity has arisen for dynamic individuals willing to learn some highly skilled endoscopy techniques and actively assist in providing quality care for patients undergoing endoscopy procedures.
We are seeking an enthusiastic highly motivated nurse ideally with appropriate experience in an acute setting, with a commitment to team working and a keen interest in continuous improvement. Experience in an endoscopy setting or gastro ward would be an advantage, but full training will be given.
Main duties of the job The Royal Berkshire Endoscopy Unit is committed to delivering high quality patient-focused service, is a well-equipped and modern department which specializes in a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for patients attending as day cases, in-patients and emergencies.
We undertake the Bowel cancer Screening Programme as part of the National Screening Programme. Following induction you will have the opportunity to undertake a number of specific endoscopy courses in line with your ongoing development programme. We are a very busy, expanding unit and are looking for some reliable and flexible staff.
The unit is open Monday to Saturday 08:00 to 18:30. Applicants are welcome to come to the unit for an informal visit. Please contact the unit for more information.

Qualifications
Essential Registered Nurse (Adult) with the Nursing and Midwifery Council At least 6 months' experience in a acute set up Desirable Endoscopy training and/or JETS competencies Communication skills/training course Experience Essential Teaching and assessing of junior staff/students Desirable Appropriate experience within an acute clinical ward or area.
Previous Endoscopy experience Disclosure and Barring Service Check This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
