Role Overview

• Maintain accurate sales and purchase ledgers.
• Process supplier invoices and reconcile supplier statements.
• Perform daily/weekly bank and credit card reconciliations.
• Assist in the preparation and submission of quarterly VAT returns.
• Prepare prepayments and accruals.
• Assist in the preparation of management accounts.
• Support the payroll function.
• Process expenses and manage petty cash.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations, HMRC guidelines, and company internal controls.

Training to be Provided

You will undertake a comprehensive Assistant Accountant Apprenticeship, combining practical on-the-job experience with structured learning. This will include dedicated off-the-job training, mentorship from experienced professionals, and support to achieve a nationally recognised qualification.

Desired Skills

Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent organisational and time management skills. Good communication skills, both written and verbal. A proactive and eager-to-learn attitude. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Basic IT proficiency, especially with Microsoft Office applications.

Qualifications

GCSE English and Maths (Grade 4/C or equivalent) is preferred, but all applications will be considered based on individual merit and potential.
