About us
Agricultural pollution remains a significant challenge in Wales, contributing to serious environmental impacts including declining water quality and damaging fish kills. In response, the Welsh Government introduced the Control of Agricultural Pollution Regulations in 2021, with the aim of reducing pollution from agricultural activities and protecting the water environment.
Natural Resources Wales (NRW) is responsible for delivering a programme of farm inspections across Wales to assess compliance with these regulations. This work plays a vital role in preventing agricultural pollution, safeguarding natural resources, and supporting sustainable land management practices for the benefit of current and future generations.
