About the role
Multi Systemic Therapy (MST) is coming to North Tyneside!
This is an exciting opportunity to join North Tyneside's Children's Services and to establish, develop and lead MST. MST is a specialist, evidence based service which aims to prevent children going into care or custody and to support children to safely return home from children's homes or foster care arrangements. MST is an established model which works closely with young people, families and partners including health, education, police, and community networks to prevent children becoming children in our care and to enable children to return home safely.
We are looking to recruit an MST Supervisor and 3 MST therapists to create the new MST Team in North Tyneside.
The MST Supervisor will provide clinical, operational and strategic leadership to a team of MST therapists, ensuring fidelity to the evidence-based MST model whilst promoting excellent outcomes for children and families. You will:
- Lead and supervise a team of MST therapists.
- Ensure high-quality delivery of the MST model through regular supervision, consultation and performance monitoring.
- Develop effective partnerships with Children's Social Care teams, health services, education providers and other key stakeholders.
- Work closely with MST consultants and national programme leads to maintain model fidelity and achieve service objectives.
- Support staff learning, development and wellbeing.
- Participate in the supervisor on-call rota in line with programme requirements. The successful candidate
You will be a highly skilled and experienced professional with:
- A recognised professional qualification in Social Work, Clinical Psychology, Mental Health Nursing, Systemic Practice or another relevant discipline.
- Significant experience working with children, young people and families with complex needs.
- Extensive experience of systemic, family-based and behavioural interventions.
- Demonstrable experience of supervising, coaching and developing practitioners.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding, child protection, children in care, and statutory children's services.
- Experience of working effectively in multi-agency environments.
- Excellent leadership, communication and relationship-building skills.
- A commitment to evidence-based practice and achieving positive outcomes for children and families. Experience of delivering or supervising MST or other intensive family intervention programmes is desireable, although training in the MST model will be provided.
