ANZUK Education is working with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Greenwich seeking an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team. This full-time position offers the opportunity to provide dedicated 1:1 support to a Year 2 pupil with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and ADHD, helping them access the curriculum and grow in confidence within a mainstream classroom environment.

This SEND Teaching Assistant role in Greenwich would suit experienced SEND Teaching Assistants, Learning Support Assistants, or specialist support workers who have previously worked with children with ASD and/or ADHD and are confident providing 1:1 support within a primary school setting.

Key Responsibilities of a SEND Teaching Assistant:

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a Year 2 pupil with ASD and ADHD.
• Support the pupil in accessing the mainstream curriculum through differentiation, scaffolding and adapted learning activities.
• Work closely with the class teacher and SENDCo to implement appropriate support strategies, breaking down tasks to make learning accessible.
• Encourage the pupil's independence, confidence and emotional regulation, supporting positive behaviour and engagement.
• Build a strong, trusting relationship with the pupil while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.
• Monitor progress and communicate effectively with the class teacher and wider SEND team.The Ideal Candidate Will:
• Have proven experience working within a SEND environment (essential), with previous experience supporting children with ASD and/or ADHD.
• Have experience providing 1:1 support within a primary school setting.
• Be confident differentiating and adapting classroom activities to meet individual needs, with a strong understanding of inclusive practice and effective SEND support strategies.
• Be patient, proactive, resilient and adaptable, confident supporting a child as they develop greater independence within a mainstream classroom.
• Hold an exemplary commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, with an enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one; already on the Update Service a plus) and eligibility to work in the UK.
• Work effectively as part of a team and communicate positively with teachers, SEND staff and families.What The School Offers:
