Job summary
Are you an experienced administrator with strong team leadership skills who enjoys keeping busy services organised, responsive and running smoothly?
We are looking for a Senior Admin Team Lead to join our Children's Autism Assessment Service and play a key role in supporting the delivery of timely, quality diagnostic assessments for children and families across Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire.
In this role, you will provide day-to-day supervision to the administrative team, helping colleagues to deliver consistent standards of service while ensuring that waiting lists, referrals, appointments, records, data and performance information are managed effectively .
You will be confident prioritising competing demands, resolving issues and adapting to changing service needs, while maintaining a calm, professional and supportive approach.
You will work closely with children, young people, parents and carers, health professionals and other organisations, handling sensitive information and potentially challenging situations with professionalism and empathy.
You will also contribute to recruitment, staff development, performance management, service reporting, audit and continuous improvement. This is an opportunity to use your administrative and people-management experience in a service that makes a meaningful difference to children and families.
If you are organised, approachable and motivated by delivering a high-quality service, we would welcome your application. Main duties of the job Supervise, line manage, train and support administrative staff, including regular one-to-ones, performance management and development.
Coordinate and prioritise the team's workload, staffing requirements, clinics, appointments, meetings and diaries. Manage waiting lists, referrals, appointments and clinical records to support timely access to assessment.
Maintain accurate records, data and performance information in line with information governance and confidentiality requirements. Handle complex enquiries, sensitive information and complaints professionally, escalating issues and risks where appropriate. Support recruitment, including interviews and new starter requirements.
Contribute to audits, KPI monitoring, performance reporting and CQC assurance. Identify and support improvements to administrative processes, policies and systems. Deputise for managers within the scope of the role and support effective office management.
