SQE Trainee Placement 2027 at Taylor Rose in Fulham

About the role

Seat 1 Residential Property (Fulham) Seat 2 Business Crime & Regulatory (Carter Lane)

This is a 26-month fixed-term placement and the SQE1 course will commence on 5 April 2027 for the January 2028 exam sitting. The SQE2 assessments will then be taken in July 2028. Trainees will receive:

  • one paid study day per week whilst on preparatory courses;
  • paid time off to sit the SQE1 exams (including any 1-3 day gaps between sittings);
  • four weeks' paid study leave for the SQE2 assessments (please note this entitlement is currently under review and may change following consultation with the course provider).

SQE2 Trainee Placement (SQE2 only - suitable for candidates who have completed the LPC) This is a 24-month fixed-term placement, which may be reduced to 18 months where the candidate already has at least one year's qualifying work experience (QWE), at the Training Principal's discretion. The SQE2 preparatory course shall commence on 7 June 2027 for the October 2027 exam sitting. Study leave entitlements are the same as set out above for SQE2.

Subject to the terms of the Trainee Solicitor (SQE Route) Policy, Taylor Rose will cover the cost of the SQE1 and SQE2 preparatory courses and the assessments. The firm will not cover the cost of any re-sits, which remains the trainee's responsibility, and reserves the right to withdraw funding if a trainee fails to keep up to date with the required study.

We also strongly advise applicants to ensure that they fully understand how the SQE2 assessments are structured, including the requirement to possess the functioning legal knowledge assessed as part of SQE1. Interviews are expected to take place in November 2026.

Please submit your application letter & CV by Monday 19th October. Applications received after the closing date will not be considered.
