  • What you would do

Typical responsibilities could include:

Contributing to the design and development of mechanical, electrical or control systems from initial concept through to production

Supporting the creation of design documentation, drawings, specifications and technical reports to ISO 9001 standards

Collaborating with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality assurance and project management to ensure designs are manufacturable and meet requirements

  • Participating in design reviews, tolerance analysis and failure mode assessment
  • Supporting prototype development and testing activities
  • Liaising with suppliers and external partners on component specifications and technical queries
  • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and design process refinement
  • What you could bring

Most roles of this type require the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant Engineering discipline (Mechanical, Electrical, Controls or equivalent)
  • Proficiency in CAD software (such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD or equivalent)
  • Working knowledge of design principles, tolerance analysis and GD&T
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality management standards
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams
  • Attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem-solving
  • Authorization to work in the United Kingdom

Nice-to-have experience could include:

  • Experience in regulated industries or ISO 13485 (medical device) environments
  • Knowledge of FEA (Finite Element Analysis) or simulation tools
  • Experience with design failure analysis or FMEA
  • Project management or Agile experience
  • Additional certifications in quality or design engineering
