JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for supporting the smooth operation of the In-Room Dining and Executive Lounge day -to -day operation. You should support the departments associates, maintaining a highly motivated team, driving standards and maximising revenue. To assist management and supervisors with additional leadership and administrative tasks where required .

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Experience :

  • Previous experience working within a F & B environment
  • Previous experience working in luxury and/or high -volume operations preferred.

Skills and Knowledge :

  • Strong Communication skills (verbal, listening, writing )
  • Pro -active and reliable
  • Positive demeanor, professional and personable
  • Ability to manage stress and multi -task.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team

Education or Certification :

  • Good level of English essential

SPECIFIC TASKS

The following are specific responsibilities and contributions critical to the successful performance of the position:

  • Ensure that the outlet is prepared and ready for service. During service, ensure that the correct sequence of service is followed and after service ensure that closing duties are complete before leaving shift. Follow departmental check lists and ensure Brand Standard Audit points are followed to achieve high levels of guest satisfaction and compliance.
  • To greet all guests and co -workers in a hospitable manner, using appropriate and professional language and in the case of the guest, using the guests’ name when known.
  • To take orders, serve drinks and serve food as required, ensuring that guests expectations are exceeded and that they have a great experience.
  • Engage guests in conversation regarding their stay, property services, and area attractions/offerings.
  • Anticipate guests' service needs by asking questions to better understand their requirements and watching/listening to guest preferences. Always act on these whenever possible.
  • To be empowered to deal with guests’ issues and problems, using the LEARN model, and seeking advice when unsure what to do.
  • To ensure compliance with quality assurance standards, including department checklists and brand standard audit requirements. Ensure the service of food and drink are being served in a timely and consistent manner.
  • To ensure that the guest's bill is recorded accurately and presented properly and efficiently. Ensure that payment is received from all guests and payment is posted through Micros. Appropriate cash handling procedures must be used.
  • To recommend and ‘sell’ to guests through menu knowledge and up -selling techniques.
  • To be responsible for the safe keeping of assigned keys and Micros cards and ensure that relevant areas and stocks are secure at the end of shift.
  • To ensure we are aware of any guest’s allergies or dietary requirements and notify the culinary team accordingly. Ensure that cross contamination does not occur.
  • To ensure that all food and beverage products are correctly stored, dated, labelled, and rotated where necessary.
  • To be mindful of surroundings and to make sure equipment is managed, stored, and used correctly and safely. Protect company tools, equipment, machines, or other assets in accordance with company policies and procedures.

SAFETY AND SECURITY

  • To adhere to the Licensing Laws, the Weights and Measures Act and all food handling guidelines.
  • To promote awareness of health and safety. For example, fire alert points, exits, fire extinguishers, trip hazards etc.
  • Follow company and department safety and security policies and procedures to ensure a clean, safe, and secure environm ent for other team members and guests.
  • To maintain the highest level of cleanliness. To ‘clean as you go’ to ensure a clean and tidy work area.
  • Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager.
  • Complete safety training and certifications.
  • Employ correct manual handling procedures to avoid injury.
  • Ensure COSHH guidelines are adhered too and relevant PPE is worn where needed.
  • Protect the privacy and security co -workers and guests, maintaining confidentiality of proprietary materials and information.

OTHER

  • To carry out any other duty/function that may be assigned by department manager and senior leadership team or any Executive Committee member
  • To maintain a high standard of grooming, hygiene, and uniform standards ensuring that your name badge is always worn. Ensure team members you are managing are also adhering to these standards.
  • Support all co -workers and treat them with dignity and respect.
  • To develop and maintain healthy inter -departmental relationships, support the team to reach common goals.
  • Complies with Marriott International Hotels Limited regional office and hotel policies and procedures.
