About the role

Job DescriptionThe Payments Officer is responsible for the day to day operational performance of the Payments team. This includes organising and monitoring the workload and developing the necessary procedures and processes to enable the team to carry out their duties efficiently and timeouslyRequirementsTo monitor and organise the workload and customer support of the Payments functionProcess VAT, CIS and other tax returnsAdminister the Council's Purchasing Card ProgrammeAdminister the Council's Income Management systemSupport FMS maintenance and development and implementation of new processesTo develop and provide training for staffHandle enquiries, both written and verbal

 

 The IndividualSignificant experience within large finance section.

  • Finance/Administration HND/HNC or AAT qualifications
  • Computer literate with good spreadsheet skills, preferably MS Excel
  • Able to organise personal workload to meet set deadlines
  • Self-confident and self-motivated
  • Knowledge of finance processes
