An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint a Band 6 Specialist Dietitian (9 hours per week) to join and support our Acute Dietetic Team in the Scottish Borders on a permanent basis.

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual with a range of clinical experience to work within our busy acute service. Excellent communication skills and a flexible approach are essential, as you will be working as part of a team of Acute Dietitians delivering care across a variety of settings. Strong team-working, organisational, and time-management skills are key requirements for this role.

Service delivery will involve work within surgical, medical, stroke, ITU, and elderly wards within the BGH and may also be required to support the renal dietetic service through outpatient clinics the dialysis unit. This post will also be required to support the assessment and review of patients based in community hospitals in Peebles, Duns, Kelso and Hawick. The role will include supervision of dietitians, students, and dietetic support workers, as well as contributing to the training of other healthcare staff.

The department delivers both acute and community dietetic services and includes a range of specialist posts. You will be joining a well-respected team of dietitians, supported by dietetic support workers and secretarial staff, with a strong commitment to staff development and clinical excellence.
