This isn't just another job listing, and we're not looking for just another applicant. We put a lot into finding the right person, and we're looking for someone who puts the same into applying.

Natural rapport with young people is required. Previous tutoring experience is optional. Most companies ask for experience. We're asking for something harder to find: the kind of person who makes a student feel like the hour went too fast, the one a student would pick first if they got to choose who helped them. No qualification teaches that. If you have it, we'll teach you everything else.

We're a growing tutoring company based in Slough, working with students from primary school through to GCSE. We've built our own teaching method, and we're serious about who we bring into the team. The families who trust us with their children deserve consistency, quality, and people who genuinely care. When we hire, we take our time. What the role actually looks like

You'll work fixed days each week, so you always know exactly what you're committing to. Sessions are 1:1, run online and at our tuition centre in Slough. We provide the training and the resources. What we ask in return is simple: when you're with a student, be completely with that student, and when you're done for the day, you're done. We respect your time outside work, and expect you to as well.

This is a tutoring role first and foremost. You're here to teach, not to juggle a dozen other jobs, though there's a bit of admin around your own students that comes with the territory. Beyond the sessions, one hour a week is a paid briefing with us to talk through how your lessons have gone and what your students need next. It sits inside your guaranteed hours rather than on top of them, and your read from the front line genuinely matters there.

Where this role is going: mobile tutoring

We teach online and at our centre in Slough. As we grow, we want to add tutoring in students' homes across Slough and the surrounding area, and we'd rather build that from our own team than go and hire a separate set of people for it.

That's the reason we fund driving lessons. Learning to drive is part of how this role develops rather than a perk bolted on the side.

Once you've passed, home sessions become available to you alongside your online and centre work, and we cover your mileage on top of your hourly pay. If you already drive, you can pick those up as soon as they come up.

We’d rather pay you properly over time than dangle a big number and forget about you. Here’s exactly what that means.

£13/hr to start, with regular pay steps built in from day one. Your first rise comes at six months, another at twelve, and they keep coming as you build time with us. There's no ceiling written into this: the longer you're here, the more you earn.

No negotiating, no waiting to be noticed. You hit the milestone, you get the step.

Weekly driving lessons, paid for by us. Once you're through probation we fund one lesson a week, every week, until you pass, and we cover your theory and practical test costs too. Lessons are yours to book around your own life, in your own time, and it's entirely your choice whether to take them up. You keep the licence for life.

It's a real investment, so we ask for some commitment back. If you leave within a year of passing, you'd repay part of what we spent on a sliding scale that drops to nothing at twelve months. You'd sign a short training agreement covering this before your first lesson is booked, so you know exactly where you stand before anything starts. No small print, no surprise bill later.

If you already drive, we cover your mileage for any travel we ask you to do, so you’re never out of pocket for being the one who can get somewhere.

A monthly reliability bonus. Turn up for every session you've committed to in a given month and there's a bonus on top of your hours. Being dependable is the whole job, so we pay for it rather than just expecting it.

A student retention bonus. When a student you teach stays with us past a full term, you get a bonus for it. When your students want to keep coming back, that's you, and you should see something for it.

Both bonus schemes are set for the academic year and confirmed to you in writing at the start of it, so you always know exactly what you’re working toward and it doesn’t move underneath you.

From there it's a brief phone call, then an interview, a short maths assessment, and a paid trial session before any offer is made. If this particular opening isn't quite right but you clearly are, we'll keep you in mind. We don't hire often. We hire well.
