The role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and enthusiastic Practice Development & Governance Nurse to join Older People and Stroke Services.

The successful candidate will provide professional leadership and expert support to nursing teams across the service, driving improvements in patient care, clinical governance, workforce development, education and quality improvement. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated Registered Nurse who is passionate about developing others, improving quality of care and influencing professional practice across a large and dynamic service.

All roles will be assessed for sponsorship eligibility in line with current Home Office requirements. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) can only issue a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) where these are met.

Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:

• This is a permanent post working 36 hours per week.
• These hours will be worked across a 5-day service. Specific working arrangements will be discussed with the successful candidate.
• You will be based at Glasgow Royal InfirmaryKey responsibilities:

The Practice Development & Governance Nurse will work closely with Senior Charge Nurses and multidisciplinary teams to support the delivery of safe, effective and person-centred care through evidence-based practice, audit, learning and service improvement initiatives.

You will lead and support clinical education programmes, staff induction, competency development, quality improvement projects, clinical audits, governance reviews and professional development activities. As a visible nursing leader, you will promote a culture of continuous learning, innovation, compassionate leadership and excellence in clinical practice in line with the NHSGGC Nursing and Midwifery Strategy.
