Purpose of post
Mae’r swydd hon yn gyfrifol am gyfrannu at waith yr Uned Ddatblygu i ddarparu cefnogaeth, arweiniad ac adnoddau i Wasanaeth Cyfieithu Llywodraeth Cymru. Dyma’r uned sy’n gyfrifol am ddarparu arweiniad a chefnogaeth i’r Gwasanaeth Cyfieithu cyfan – a’r Llywodraeth yn ehangach – ar faterion yn ymwneud ag arddull cyfieithu, terminoleg, sicrhau ansawdd, datblygu sgiliau cyfieithu proffesiynol, a hyrwyddo’r Gwasanaeth fel canolfan ragoriaeth. Prif amcanion y swydd yw:
Cynnal ymchwil terminolegol a rhoi cyngor arbenigol ar dermau yn y Gymraeg, gan sicrhau
y gwneir penderfyniadau gwydn o ansawdd uchel, yn unol â safonau ac egwyddorion cydnabyddedig y maes
Cynnal a chynorthwyo i ddatblygu adnoddau terminoleg blaenllaw’r Gwasanaeth Cyfieithu, gan gynnwys cronfa gyhoeddus TermCymru ac adnoddau terminoleg eraill BydTermCymru, gan sicrhau eu bod yn parhau i fod â hygrededd uchel, ac yn bodloni gofynion y defnyddwyr
Hyrwyddo arferion safonol a datblygiad o ran terminoleg ac enwau lleoedd yn y Gwasanaeth Cyfieithu ac o fewn Llywodraeth Cymru’n ehangach.
Rhoddir hyfforddiant llawn ym meysydd gwaith terminoleg ac enwau lleoedd i’r ymgeisydd llwyddiannus.
Key tasks
Terminoleg
Cefnogi’r Arweinydd Terminoleg i gynnal prosesau safoni terminoleg, trwy gyflawni ymchwil ac ymgynghori trylwyr a pharatoi cynigion, ar gyfer dogfennau â phroffil neu risg uchel (gan gynnwys deddfwriaeth sylfaenol)
Darparu cyngor rhagweithiol ar derminoleg mewn dogfennau â phroffil neu risg uchel, neu rai sy’n cynnwys problemau terminoleg newydd/cymhleth, trwy gribo am dermau, cyflawni ymchwil ac ymgynghori trylwyr a pharatoi cynigion
- Cynghori ar derminoleg mewn ymateb i geisiadau ad hoc gan gyfieithwyr ac eraill
- Cynghori ar derminoleg mewn ymateb i geisiadau brys gan Weinidogion
- Paratoi cofnodion addas ar gyfer y gronfa dermau, a gwirio ansawdd allforiadau o’r gronfa
Cefnogi’r Arweinydd Terminoleg i ddatblygu canllawiau ac arweiniad ar agweddau penodol ar derminoleg a materion cysylltiedig
Cynorthwyo i gynnal ansawdd y penderfyniadau a’r argymhellion a wneir, gan gynnwys:
Sicrhau bod penderfyniadau ac argymhellion yn seiliedig ar dystiolaeth gadarn ac egwyddorion cydnabyddedig, a bod y rhesymeg yn cael ei hesbonio’n glir
Trafod yn ôl yr angen â rhanddeiliaid ac arbenigwyr mewnol ac allanol, gan gynnwys cydweithwyr yn y Gwasanaeth Cyfieithu, arbenigwyr iaith/terminoleg, arbenigwyr cyfreithiol, ac arbenigwyr polisi/pwnc
Cadw cofnod o’r penderfyniadau, a’r ymchwil a’r drafodaeth sy’n sail iddynt, a sicrhau bod trywydd archwilio clir ar gael
Sicrhau bod penderfyniadau’n cael eu cymeradwyo ar y lefelau priodol, yn enwedig pan fyddant yn wleidyddol sensitif neu’n ddadleuol.

Cefnogi’r Arweinydd Terminoleg ar waith Panel Safoni Enwau Lleoedd Swyddfa Comisiynydd y Gymraeg, gan ddirprwyo ar ei ran yn ôl y gofyn
Ymchwilio a drafftio cyngor ar destun Cymraeg arwyddion ffyrdd, gan ddilyn egwyddorion cydnabyddedig.

Cefnogi’r Arweinydd Terminoleg i sicrhau bod yr adnoddau terminoleg yn addas i’r diben, yn cefnogi’r cyfieithwyr i’r graddau mwyaf posibl, ac ar gael yn gyhoeddus
Cynnal cyflwyniadau a darparu hyfforddiant ar ddefnyddio’r pecynnau a’r systemau a gynhelir gan yr Uned Ddatblygu, ee y gronfa dermau, TermCymru, BydTermCymru
Cyfathrebu â sefydliadau allanol (ee Yr Uned Technoleg Iaith ym Mhrifysgol Bangor, Geiriadur Prifysgol Cymru, Swyddfa Comisiynydd y Gymraeg a sefydliadau cenedlaethol a rhyngwladol eraill), er mwyn rhannu a dysgu am arferion da wrth ym meysydd terminoleg ac enwau lleoedd
Meithrin arbenigedd er mwyn cefnogi a chynghori ar ddefnydd addas o offer technolegol ym maes rheoli terminoleg, gan gynnwys systemau a phrosesau priodol ar gyfer cribo termau, trafod a safoni termau gan sicrhau trywydd archwilio manwl, cynnal cronfeydd termau, a chyhoeddi a lledaenu termau.
