About the role:

Are you an experienced service charge professional looking to take the lead in a high-impact role?

We're seeking a Rent & Service Charge Team Leader to be our subject matter expert, driving service charge and rent-setting operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, maximising income, and delivering outstanding outcomes for residents. This is a pivotal role where you'll lead a small team, influence strategic decision-making, and build strong relationships across the business and with external stakeholders.

This role is based in our Northampton office 3 days per week and 2 days remotely if required.

About the role:

  • Lead, coach and develop the Rent & Service Charge team, driving performance, capability and service excellence.
  • Oversee the preparation, review and reconciliation of service charge budgets, ensuring accuracy, transparency and compliance.
  • Manage the annual rent review process across the portfolio, ensuring all changes are implemented correctly and in line with legislation and policy.
  • Act as the key relationship manager for managing agents and management companies, challenging costs and driving value for money.
  • Provide expert advice on service charges, rent setting, leases and regulatory requirements to colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Drive continual improvement of systems, controls and processes whilst delivering high-quality reporting and governance assurance.

About you

  • Strong experience in service charge management, rent setting, housing finance or a related affordable housing environment.
  • Excellent knowledge of service charge legislation, lease obligations, the Rent Standard and wider housing regulations.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, analyse financial data and reconcile complex information with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Experience leading, mentoring or providing oversight to team members while maintaining high standards of delivery.
  • Stakeholder management and communication skills, with the confidence to challenge and influence both internally and externally.
  • A proactive, customer-focused mindset with a passion for improving services and delivering positive outcomes for residents
