Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council is seeking to recruit Catering Assistants to join our Catering Services team.

These roles are well suited to individuals looking for part-time employment that fits alongside other commitments.

• Current Vacancies
• St Helens Primary School, Hartlepool
• 10 hours per week, Term Time Only (+ 2 days)

• Monday to Friday
• 2 hours per day
• 11.30am to 1.30pm

• Pro rata actual salary: £5,700 (plus pending pay award)
• Tilery Primary School, Stockton-on-Tees
• 6.25 hours per week, Term Time Only (+ 2 days)

• Monday to Friday
• 1 hour 15 minutes per day
• 12.00pm to 1.15pm

Pro rata actual salary: £3,562 (plus pending pay award)

What Will You Be Doing?

As a Catering Assistant, you will:

• Support the preparation and service of healthy, nutritious meals
• Serve food to pupils and staff in a friendly and professional manner
• Assist with setting up and clearing dining areas
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, food hygiene and health and safety
• Help create a positive dining experience for pupils and staff
• Work as part of a team to ensure the smooth running of the kitchen service

What Do You Need?

Previous catering experience would be advantageous but is not essential. We are looking for people who have:

• A positive approach to work and a willingness to learn
• Good communication and customer service skills
• The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
• An understanding of the importance of hygiene and cleanliness standards
• Good organisational skills and the ability to work efficiently
• The ability to work effectively in a busy, fast-paced kitchen environment

Additional Information

As these roles are based within schools, successful applicants will be required to undertake safeguarding checks, including an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
