• Salary: up to £35,000 pro rata depending on experience
• Hours: hours negotiable but a minimum of 32

We are looking for an enthusiastic Room Leader / 2nd Deputy Manager to join our friendly and dedicated team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about providing high-quality care and education while also wanting to develop their leadership and management skills.

About the Role

As Room Leader / 2nd Deputy Manager, you will play an important role in the day-to-day running of the setting. You will lead your room team, support children's learning and development, and help ensure the highest standards of care, safeguarding and practice are maintained.

You will also work closely with the Deputy Manager and Nursery Manager, taking on additional leadership responsibilities and supporting the smooth running of the nursery in their absence.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support a room team, promoting a positive and professional working environment.
• Provide high-quality care, learning and development opportunities for children.
• Act as a positive role model for colleagues and promote excellent practice.
• Support staff with planning, observations, assessments and children's next steps.
• Ensure safeguarding, health and safety and nursery policies are consistently followed.
• Build strong, positive relationships with children, parents, carers and colleagues.
• Support the induction, mentoring and development of team members.
• Assist the management team with the effective day-to-day running of the setting.
• Take responsibility for delegated management duties when required.
• Contribute to maintaining an inclusive, stimulating and welcoming environment.
• Help ensure the nursery continues to meet and exceed the expectations of Ofsted and statutory requirements.

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

• Passionate about working with children and supporting their development.
• Experienced in an Early Years setting, ideally with previous Room Leader or senior experience.
• Confident leading and motivating a team.
• Organised, reliable and able to work well under pressure.
• A strong communicator who can build positive relationships with families and colleagues.
• Knowledgeable about the EYFS and safeguarding requirements.
• Proactive, positive and willing to take responsibility.
• Keen to progress their career within Early Years leadership and management.
• A relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification is essential. Management or leadership qualifications/experience would be highly desirable.
