We operate Siena Court — a brand-new, purpose-built care facility in North Shields that is modern, clean and designed to deliver outstanding, person-centred care in a warm and homely environment.

Role Overview

As a Support Worker at Siena Court, you will play a vital role in the day-to-day lives of our residents, helping them to live with dignity, independence and comfort. You will work as part of a close-knit, caring team to deliver high-quality, person-centred support tailored to each individual's needs and preferences.

This role is suitable for both experienced carers and those looking to begin a career in health and social care — full induction and on-site training are provided.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing personal care including washing, dressing, grooming and continence support with dignity and respect
  • Assisting residents with moving and handling using appropriate equipment and safe techniques
  • Supporting residents with mealtimes, nutrition and hydration
  • Helping individuals to maintain their independence and participate in meaningful daily activities
  • Assisting with medication administration in line with care plans and company policy
  • Monitoring and reporting changes in residents' health, wellbeing or behaviour to senior staff
  • Contributing to accurate and up-to-date care records and documentation
  • Building warm, trusting relationships with residents, their families and colleagues
  • Maintaining a clean, safe and comfortable environment
  • Following all care plans, risk assessments and safeguarding procedures
  • Working collaboratively with Team Leads, registered nurses and other healthcare professionals
  • Attending team meetings, supervisions and mandatory training sessions

What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • A genuine passion for supporting people and improving their quality of life
  • A caring, compassionate and patient approach
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Reliability, good timekeeping and a professional attitude
  • Ability to work as part of a team and use your own initiative
  • UK right to work — no visa sponsorship is available

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in a health, social care or caring role• NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or willingness to work towards)
  • Experience of personal care, moving and handling or medication administration
  • Knowledge of person-centred care, safeguarding or CQC standards
