About the role
The Bridge Academy is looking for a friendly, experienced and hardworking Chef Manager to lead our school catering team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about food and enjoys creating nutritious, high-quality meals for children. You will play an important role in the day-to-day running of the school kitchen, ensuring that pupils receive a safe, enjoyable and positive lunchtime experience.
Working 32.5 hours per week, term time only, you will be responsible for overseeing the catering service, supporting and leading the catering team, and ensuring high standards of food preparation, hygiene, cleanliness and food safety are maintained.
You will have an important role in planning and preparing menus, managing stock and resources, and ensuring the kitchen operates efficiently and effectively each day.
About you
We are looking for someone who is:
An experienced and enthusiastic chef who takes pride in preparing and serving high-quality food.
Friendly, approachable and able to build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues and the wider school community.
Organised and able to effectively manage the day-to-day running of a busy school kitchen.
Confident in leading and supporting a catering team.
Committed to maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene and cleanliness.
Able to manage stock, minimise waste and use resources effectively.
Positive, reliable and able to work well under pressure.
Previous experience of working in a school or similar catering environment would be an advantage. A relevant catering qualification and appropriate food safety training would also be desirable.
