A warm and relaxed family based in Cobham is looking for an experienced, nurturing and enthusiastic Part-Time Nanny Housekeeper to support their two young children and family home on a long-term basis.
This is a genuine Nanny Housekeeper position, with approximately 70% childcare and 30% housekeeping. Each afternoon will begin with around 1.5 hours of housekeeping and family support before school and nursery collection, followed by caring for the children for the remainder of the afternoon.
The family's preferred working days are Monday, Wednesday and Friday, with Friday required. Either Monday or Wednesday could be changed to Tuesday, and there may be some further flexibility for the right candidate.
The family would particularly like to find someone warm, calm and patient who genuinely enjoys spending time with young children. They are looking for someone who will engage and have fun with the children while also being reliable, organised and proactive in supporting family life.
The family lives in a relaxed and informal four-bedroom home in Cobham, within walking distance of Cobham train station, and has a King Charles Cavalier.
Key Responsibilities
Childcare
- Collecting the children from school and/or nursery
- Providing warm and attentive care throughout the afternoon
- Engaging the children in play and age-appropriate activities
- Preparing and serving simple, healthy meals for the children
- Keeping the children's belongings and play areas organised
- Bath time and preparation for bedtime
Housekeeping and Family Support
- General tidying and household organisation
- Taking particular responsibility for the children's bedrooms, clothes and belongings
- Family laundry and ironing
- Changing bed linen
Requirements
- Previous professional Nanny or Nanny Housekeeper experience with young children
- Warm, nurturing and genuinely enthusiastic about working with children
- Calm, patient, reliable and organised
- Proactive and confident using initiative
- Comfortable preparing simple, healthy meals for children
- Confident, careful and safety-conscious driver with own car
- Comfortable around dogs
- Enhanced DBS and First Aid certification, or willing to obtain
Benefits

- Mileage and petrol reimbursed for all journeys undertaken while on duty
- Additional evening or weekend babysitting may be available by mutual agreement and would be paid separately
On rare occasions, the family may also ask whether the Nanny Housekeeper is available for an overnight stay or to care for the children for part or all of a weekend. Any additional hours would always be agreed in advance and paid separately.
