Cleaswell Hill School is an outstanding day community Special School for 262 children (designated age range 4 – 19) with complex and multiple learning difficulties and disabilities. Some pupils have additional physical, sensory, communication or emotional needs.

Cleaswell Hill School seeks to appoint a talented Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic staff team to support the learning of children with a wide range of special educational needs and disabilities. This challenging, yet extremely rewarding role, will involve working closely with small groups of children, teaching staff and the therapy team to ensure that all pupils can fulfil their potential. Candidates should have an interest in working with children and demonstrate a caring and compassionate nature. Experience within other educational or care settings is desirable, however not essential.

This post is for a variable hours permanent contract between 25 – 35 hours per week. The post is initially for 32.5 hours per week term time + 5 teacher training days. The start date of this post can be negotiated, however the successful candidate will preferably start as soon as possible.

Cleaswell Hill School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff members and volunteers to share this commitment. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the successful applicant will be required to apply for an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service(DBS) certificate, along with other relevant pre-employment checks. As the post will involve regulated activity with children, it is a criminal offence to apply for this post if you are included on the children’s barred list held by the DBS.
