AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Stakeholder Engagement Senior Consultant to support the continued growth of its Aviation business. Reporting to the Stakeholder Engagement Lead, the role will focus on planning and delivering structured, strategic engagement across major aviation projects. The successful candidate will lead and support engagement with a wide range of stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, airport operators, airlines, service providers, construction contractors and government agencies. Working alongside Senior Stakeholder Engagement Professionals, the role will involve leading engagement planning, developing and cascading communications, and supporting risk mitigation across aviation transformation programmes, business and supply chain change initiatives, and infrastructure developments in the UK and internationally.

Your role

  • Stakeholder analysis and planning: Map and analyse internal and external stakeholder environments for clients, supporting the development and implementation of engagement strategies and plans for aviation transformation and infrastructure projects.
  • Engagement delivery: Lead and support engagement with key stakeholders, including airport operators, regulatory agencies, airlines, government bodies, service providers, construction contractors and other industry partners.
  • Risk and interdependency management: Proactively assess stakeholder interdependencies, project activities and the wider impact of change, design or programme decisions, providing a balanced view to support risk mitigation.
  • Tools and governance: Maintain stakeholder mapping tools, engagement logs and risk registers to support effective governance, reporting and decision-making.
  • Workshops and communications: Facilitate, coordinate and support workshops, stakeholder forums and engagement meetings, ensuring clear communication, collaboration and follow-up.
  • Briefings and reporting: Prepare briefing materials, presentations and engagement reports in collaboration with client leads, project subject matter experts and communications specialists.
  • Executive engagement: Support executive-level stakeholder engagement by briefing senior leaders and preparing concise reports on stakeholder-related matters.
  • Business development: Contribute to proposals and bid activities as required.
  • Team leadership: Manage and guide junior team members, ensuring best practice in stakeholder engagement is embedded across projects.

About you

Essential

  • Proven experience in stakeholder engagement, public affairs, or communications.
  • Experience working within an airline and/or airport operations.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Experience managing high-profile stakeholder engagement activities, particularly in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
  • Strong facilitation skills, with the ability to lead workshops, forums, and structured discussions.
  • Ability to assess stakeholder concerns, risks, and opportunities, providing strategic recommendations.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to learn from experienced professionals and develop expertise in stakeholder engagement.

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Communications, Change Management, Public Affairs, Business, Engineering, or Aviation).
  • Experience in aviation, infrastructure, or business change projects is beneficial.
  • Understanding of regulatory frameworks and stakeholder engagement principles.
