Equity Accounting (NE) LLP is a growing accountancy practice providing accounting, tax and advisory services to a diverse portfolio of clients. Our clients include sole traders, partnerships, limited companies and contractors operating across multiple industries.
Equity Accounting is seeking an organised and accurate Administrator to support the effective day-to-day operation of the business.
About the role
Reporting to the Office Manager, you will provide an efficient, accurate and professional administrative service to management, clients and colleagues. This is a varied role covering client communication, record management, diary coordination, client onboarding, compliance administration and general office support.
You will also use systems including Bright Manager, Mailchimp and Microsoft Office and will play an important role in ensuring client information and administrative processes are maintained accurately and professionally.
What you'll be doing
- Act as a first point of contact for clients and other stakeholders, responding professionally to telephone, email and general enquiries.
- Maintain accurate, organised and secure digital and physical filing systems.
- Monitor and order office stationery and supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels are maintained.
- Manage diaries, schedule meetings and coordinate appointments for the management team.
- Prepare and distribute the monthly newsletter through Mailchimp and assist with other company-wide communications.
- Produce reports on work progress, workflow status and outstanding tasks using Bright Manager and internal reporting systems.
- Support the Office Manager with reviewing and updating company policies, procedures and client documentation.
- Attend meetings when required, take accurate minutes and distribute them promptly.
- Ensure client records and communications are recorded accurately and maintained in a timely manner.
- Process and complete client onboarding activities using Bright Manager.
- Complete company administration activities, including company registrations, Confirmation Statements, ID verification and related compliance tasks.
- Undertake Anti-Money Laundering checks and ensure onboarding activities comply with regulatory requirements and internal procedures.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding client information and company data.
- Promote a positive and professional image of Equity Accounting at all times.
- Undertake other reasonable duties as requested by the Office Manager.
Essential requirements
To be considered for this role, you will need:
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word and Excel.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- The ability to handle confidential information professionally.
- Experience using Bright Manager or similar practice management software .
Desirable requirements
It would be beneficial if you also have:
- Experience working within an accountancy practice or professional services environment.
- A willingness to embrace AI software such as Microsoft Copilot to enhance productivity and improve systems.

Working pattern and location
This is a full-time, permanent, in-person position based in Durham DH1 5HL .
You will be required to work from the office five days per week and must be able to commute to Durham DH1 5HL reliably each working day.
Normal working hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Please note that hybrid and remote working are not available for this position.
