We're looking for an experienced and motivated O&M Engineer to join our growing Operations & Maintenance Team at Photon Energy Ltd . About the Role

As an O&M Engineer, you'll play a vital role in ensuring renewable energy systems operate safely, efficiently, and at peak performance. This is a varied position that combines hands-on site work with technical planning and coordination responsibilities.

You'll work closely with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to deliver exceptional service while supporting the long-term performance of solar PV and electrical installations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance inspections on renewable energy systems and associated equipment.
  • Respond to and resolve reactive maintenance issues in a safe, professional, and timely manner.
  • Conduct site inspections, surveys, and performance assessments.
  • Complete remedial works identified during maintenance visits and inspections.
  • Produce accurate site reports and maintenance documentation.
  • Prepare and maintain maintenance schedules, service records, and site documentation packs.
  • Liaise with internal teams to obtain quotations and recommendations for corrective works.
  • Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, and colleagues to ensure projects are delivered efficiently.
  • Manage maintenance activities and ensure service levels are achieved.
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company quality standards and health and safety procedures.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance operational performance and customer satisfaction.

What We're Looking For

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • 2382-22 Level 3 Award in the Requirements for Electrical Installations (BS 7671:2018) or higher.
  • BTEC Level 4 or above in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Electronics, or a related discipline.
  • Strong technical knowledge of solar PV systems and electrical installations.
  • Experience installing, servicing, or maintaining solar PV systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and AutoCAD.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic abilities.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
