About the role

Information Communications Technician Apprentice (Level 3)

Our employer-partner is seeking a motivated and customer-focused IT Technician Apprentice to join their growing support team. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience supporting both proprietary software solutions and Microsoft-based systems while working towards a recognised apprenticeship qualification.

You'll be joining a busy, fast-paced environment where no two days are the same. Working alongside experienced IT professionals, you'll develop valuable technical, troubleshooting and customer service skills while helping customers resolve a wide range of IT issues.

What You'll Be Doing

As an IT Technician Apprentice, you'll play a key role in supporting customers and ensuring they receive an excellent service experience.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing first-line technical support via phone, email and live chat
  • Troubleshooting software, hardware and system-related issues
  • Managing and updating support tickets through the helpdesk system
  • Taking ownership of customer queries and driving issues through to resolution
  • Maintaining accurate records of support requests and technical issues
  • Assisting users with system navigation, software usage and technical questions
  • Escalating more complex issues to senior support engineers where required
  • Supporting the installation, configuration and maintenance of hardware and software
  • Liaising with third-party providers when specialist support is needed
  • Delivering excellent customer service and ensuring customers are kept informed throughout the support process
  • Contributing to internal knowledge bases and support documentation

About You

Desired Skills & Experience

While full training will be provided, the following would be beneficial:

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems
  • Basic understanding of PC hardware and device configuration
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications
  • An interest in software, troubleshooting and technical support
  • GCSE Maths and English (Grade 4/C or above preferred)
