​ About Us Harris Academy Rainham is a very popular and oversubscribed 11-16 academy which is part of the Harris Federation.  We joined the Federation in September 2016 and there are exciting times ahead.  We opened a Sixth Form for 400 students in September 2023 and are looking for ambitious and dedicated staff who wish to be a part of our Academy.  At Harris Academy Rainham we have a dedicated group of staff who are deeply committed to serve our community.  We have built a school on our core values of Belong, believe, Become.  These values are at the heart of our school and all that we do. ​ Summary We are looking to appoint a graduate learning mentor at and Harris Rainham Sixth Form to support individuals and groups of students to enable access to learning, contributing to the development and maintenance of a purposeful, nurturing learning environment.

The actual salary for this role will be £28,067 - £29,752 (37.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year).

​ Main Areas of Responsibility Your responsibilities will include:

• Delivering targeted interventions through 1:1 and small-group support sessions
• Supporting students to achieve their academic, progress and examination targets
• Monitoring, tracking and recording student progress and attainment
• Providing clear marking, feedback and guidance to support improvement
• Liaising with parents, carers and subject leaders regarding progress and attendance
• Using behaviour management strategies to maintain a purposeful learning environment
• Working with teachers to identify and support individual learning needs
• Monitoring student engagement and providing feedback on participation and progress
• Supporting students within lessons to access learning and achieve lesson objectives
• Planning support activities and preparing resources in collaboration with teaching staff
• Supporting students during tutor time, homework clubs and other academy activities
• Assisting the wider class group as appropriate
• Invigilating examinations and acting as a reader or scribe when required
• Analysing student performance data and implementing targeted intervention strategies
• Preparing students effectively for examinations and assessments
• Supporting the wider work and development of the academy as required

Qualifications & Experience We would like to hear from you if you have:

Qualifications to degree level or equivalent

Experience of working directly with young people in an education or training environment, supporting the learning of students

Experience of establishing and maintaining positive working relationships with a range of stakeholders, at all levels

Experience of managing and being responsible for own workload
