What is the role?
This role is critical in maintaining a diverse range of assets and complex systems including cabin baggage X-Ray machines, automatic tray return systems, body scanners, Flight Information Display Screen systems, door access control systems and barriers, Standby / Back-up Power Generators, Pumping Stations and associated water infrastructure serving our ponds and waterways.
What will you do?
- Deliver planned, reactive and corrective maintenance activities to ensure the safe and reliable operation of critical airport assets and infrastructure.
- Diagnose faults and carry out electrical, mechanical and control system maintenance to maximise asset availability and performance.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records using CMMS and ensure compliance with regulatory, company and manufacturer requirements.
- Promote a strong safety culture by adhering to health and safety procedures and reporting incidents, hazards and near misses.
- Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to minimise operational disruption, share technical knowledge and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Continuously develop technical skills and contribute to the overall performance and capability of the engineering team.
Do you have what we're looking for?
- Advanced Modern Apprenticeship in Mechanical, Electrical or Electronic Engineering (or equivalent)
- Experience within a maintenance engineering environment
- Electrical or Mechanical Engineering qualification to ONC level, or equivalent experience
- Electrical Skilled Person ESR 2 certification
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Strong communication and time management skills
- Experience using Microsoft Office and Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
- Knowledge of surface and foul water assets, pumping infrastructure and power generators would be advantageous
