About the team

The Domestic Corruption Unit (DCU), serves as the national coordinating function for domestic bribery and corruption in support of His Majesty's Government's Anti-Corruption Strategy. The unit receives and assesses referrals from police forces, public sector organisations, partner agencies, and private industry, undertaking triage and development work to determine investigative viability, threat, risk, and harm. Where appropriate, the DCU either conducts investigations directly or supports the allocation of matters to local forces, regional organised crime units, or other partner agencies, while providing ongoing specialist advice and oversight.

In addition to its investigative role, the DCU works closely with national partners, including the Joint Anti-Corruption Unit (JACU) and the National Economic Crime Centre (NECC), to improve understanding of the domestic corruption threat and identify systemic vulnerabilities. The unit also has a strong focus on prevention and disruption, using intelligence and insight to identify emerging risks, strengthen institutional integrity, and support improvements in policy, practice, and capability across policing and partner organisations, thereby enhancing the UK's overall response to domestic bribery and corruption.

About the role

The Intelligence Analyst will be responsible for providing dedicated analytical support to the Domestic Corruption Unit (DCU) in understanding the domestic corruption threat and in the investigation of bribery, corruption, money laundering, and associated criminality.

The candidate will be responsible for the production of crime and intelligence products in line with the National Intelligence Model (NIM). The candidate will be expected to identify and develop enforcement, disruption and prevention opportunities through analysis. Findings will be utilised by the DCU, wider law enforcement and the counter corruption community to disrupt and prevent criminals from committing bribery and corruption. The role would benefit from a candidate with good analytical experience in supporting investigations who is able to operate effectively from the outset.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will be:

  • Collate, evaluate and analyse information from a variety of internal and external sources, producing high quality analytical products, contributing to the development of strategies and identification of enforcement, disruption and prevention opportunities.
  • Applying analytical techniques, to develop crime and intelligence packages, compliant with the NIM for dissemination to law enforcement and the wider counter corruption community.
  • As appropriate, to maximise intelligence sharing opportunities to develop the unit’s capability, as well as informing stakeholder initiatives/strategies.
  • Conduct evidential analysis and attend court to give evidence.
  • Undertake any other duties commensurate with the role and grade as reasonably requested by line management.

Requirements

Your application will be scored against the criteria listed below for shortlisting. Please give examples and evidence your ability, knowledge and experience against the points below in your application.

  • Excellent research and analytical skills to identify the required information to facilitate accurate assessments of bribery and corruption.
  • Excellent report writing skills to provide key information in relation to the assessment decision that is both clear and auditable.
  • Good decision-making skills and the ability to communicate decisions to stakeholder groups and effectively manage their expectations.
  • Previous experience of working as an analyst within a law enforcement or associated public/private sector organisation.
  • A proven analytical background, together with knowledge of criminal investigations, practices and processes.
