Senior Project Manager

As our Senior Project Manager, you'll take the lead on complex, multi-million-pound development projects, helping to shape communities, influence strategic investment decisions, and drive the delivery of new homes across South East Wales. About the role

This is a senior role within our Development team, combining strategic thinking, commercial awareness and technical expertise. You'll take the lead on delivering development projects across South East Wales, identifying and progressing new opportunities, overseeing complex schemes from feasibility through to completion, and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest standards.

Working closely with colleagues across the Group, consultants, contractors, local authorities and Welsh Government, you'll help shape developments that meet customer needs while delivering long-term value. While your primary focus will be projects across South East Wales, you'll also work as part of our wider Development team, collaborating with colleagues across Wales and providing support on projects and initiatives where required.

Our homes continue to evolve to meet the changing needs of customers and communities, incorporating modern design, sustainability principles and new technologies that enhance the quality, efficiency and future resilience of our developments.

Alongside managing projects, you'll provide leadership and support to Project Managers, contribute to business planning and investment decisions, and play a key role in maintaining strong partnerships that support the delivery of high-quality homes across Wales.

Skills and Experience Needed

You’ll bring significant experience gained within a housing, development, construction or property environment, with a proven track record of leading complex development projects and managing multi-disciplinary teams. You’ll be commercially astute, technically confident and comfortable balancing risk, cost, quality and customer outcomes to make informed decisions.

We’re looking for someone who can build strong relationships, influence stakeholders at all levels and work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners. You’ll have excellent project management skills, a practical approach to problem solving, and the ability to keep projects moving while maintaining a strong focus on quality and customer experience.

A strong understanding of the construction industry, residential development and the commercial aspects of housing delivery is essential, along with knowledge of planning, procurement and development processes. An understanding of the Registered Social Landlord sector and Section 106 agreements would be advantageous. Applicants should be educated to degree level or be able to demonstrate significant relevant experience, and hold a full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle for work purposes.

Working alongside experienced development professionals, you'll play a key role in delivering complex projects that support our growth ambitions and create lasting social impact.

This is a full-time, permanent role (37 hours) with a salary of £67,080. The role will be based in either Newport or Cardiff, depending on which location is closest to you, with hybrid working in place. You’ll receive 26 days annual leave, rising to 31 plus bank holidays.

We work Monday to Friday, with the option to compress your hours into a 9-day fortnight. You’ll also benefit from enhanced sick pay, wellbeing support, mileage paid at 55p per mile, and ongoing opportunities to develop and grow your career.
