About the role

Job summary

We are looking for an EPR Cut-over Project Manager to take on a senior leadership role within the EPR Programme team. You'll be responsible for designing, developing, and executing the Cutover Plan that transitions the organisation from legacy systems and processes to the new Oracle Health Millenium platform.

You'll also lead the early live support strategy to ensure a smooth go-live across all sites. Main duties of the job The EPR Cutover Project Manager will lead the strategic planning and execution of the transition from existing legacy systems and workflows to the new Electronic Patient Record (EPR) system.

This role is critical to delivering a seamless and disruption-free go-live across both clinical and operational services, ensuring readiness, stability, and continuity throughout the changeover process.

This role involves detailed cut-over planning, stakeholder alignment, risk mitigation, and execution of go-live activities to ensure minimal disruption across clinical and operational domains. The postholder will work closely with technical teams, integration partners, and service leads to deliver a controlled and auditable transition.

Cutover Planning & Execution Lead the development and delivery of a comprehensive Cutover Plan aligned to the programmes critical path and milestones. Coordinate technical and operational readiness across all Trust divisions and departments to ensure a unified transition approach.

Proactively identify and manage dependencies, risks, and contingencies to safeguard cutover integrity and minimise disruption.

Stakeholder Collaboration Build strong working relationships with key stakeholders including clinical and operational leads, IT and infrastructure teams, data migration and integration specialists, and EPR vendors (e.g., Oracle Health).

Act as a central point of coordination to ensure clear, timely communication between Trust teams and third-party suppliers. Foster collaboration across departments to align cutover activities with programme objectives and service needs.

Data Migration and Integration Ensure the end-to-end data migration from legacy systems to the new EPR is strategically planned and fully integrated within the overall cutover plan. Safeguard data integrity, accuracy, and compliance with NHS data governance and clinical safety standards.

Collaborate with vendors to align integration activities with best practices, technical specifications, and programme timelines Service Readiness and Risk Management Monitor and manage service readiness activities to ensure operational continuity during cutover.

Minimise system downtime and oversee data catch-up processes to maintain service performance and patient safety. Lead structured risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to proactively address potential disruptions.

Go-Live and Early Live Support Lead the Full-Dress Rehearsal (FDR) to simulate go-live conditions and validate readiness across all services. Establish and manage Command Centres and checkpoint calls to monitor progress and respond to emerging issues.

Coordinate Early Live Support (ELS) activities and ensure a structured handover to Business-as-Usual(BAU) teams for sustained operational stability. Communication and Training Support the delivery of internal and external communication plans to ensure stakeholders are informed and engaged throughout the cutover process.

Collaborate with the EPR Communications Officer to develop and disseminate cutover-specific messaging tailored to clinical, operational, and technical audiences.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential Prince 2 qualified, a minimum of foundation level, or equivalent
