You’ll be part of a friendly and supportive team, working alongside experienced IT professionals who will help you build your knowledge, confidence and practical experience.
Alongside your day-to-day experience at Redsquid, you’ll receive structured training through Baltic Apprenticeships, attending two-day training blocks every 4–6 weeks. This will give you the opportunity to gain valuable qualifications while putting your learning into practice in the workplace. It’s a fantastic opportunity to start your IT career, gain real-world experience and develop your skills within a supportive and forward-thinking company.
In this role, you’ll work towards your Level 3 Information Communications Technician qualification, delivered by our expert training team at Baltic Apprenticeships.
A Typical Day in the Job:
- Respond to remote helpdesk requests with timely and effective technical support.
- Log, track and resolve support calls efficiently.
- Carry out hardware and software repairs in a fully-equipped workshop.
- Install and configure hardware and software across client sites.
- Maintain detailed network documentation and reports.
- Support project needs by sourcing IT equipment.
- Attend on-site visits to assist schools directly.
Full training and support will be provided by your workplace mentor and from the team at Baltic Apprenticeships.
Desired Qualities, Skills and Knowledge
- Experience of hardware repair and troubleshooting.
- Experience of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office products.
- Strong communication skills.
- Problem- solving skills.
- The ability to work well within a team.
- Organisational skills.
- A Grade 5 in GCSE English & Grade 4 in GCSE Maths.
Salary, Hours & Benefits:
- £15,600 per annum.
- Monday to Friday, 8:00am-4:00pm.
- 20 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
This apprenticeship programme will provide you with everything you need to launch and develop your career in IT support. Afterwards, we’ll support you to take the next steps, including further training and progression onto a Level 4 qualification.
Your Training with Baltic Apprenticeships
This Level 3 apprenticeship provides everything you need to immerse yourself in the exciting world of technology and launch a rewarding career in IT.
You’ll get hands-on experience in all areas of technical support, from configuring devices to supporting with software, optimising performance and setting up virtual environments. With our unique curriculum and one-to-one support, you’ll accelerate your skills and get the qualification and confidence you need to thrive in IT.
You’ll be based full time with an employer and will quickly become an important part of the team. Our training is 100% online, including real-time classes with our expert trainers and self-paced courses created by industry specialists.
