Job Introduction

Medway Council is committed to ensuring that residents have a voice in shaping housing services. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic Resident Engagement Apprentice to join the Housing Services Data & Insight Team.

The Resident Engagement Apprentice will support the delivery of engagement activities, gather resident feedback, maintain accurate records and use data to help improve services for tenants and leaseholders. This role will help ensure that resident views are captured, understood and used to inform decision-making and service improvements across Housing Services.

This apprenticeship provides an excellent opportunity to develop skills in resident engagement, customer service, administration, data management and community consultation whilst working towards a recognised qualification.

About the Role

As part of this role, you can expect to undertake the following tasks:

  • Upload and maintain electronic records.
  • Support meeting administration, including room bookings and minute-taking when required.
  • Maintain accurate records of engagement activities and resident contacts.
  • Provide general administrative support to the Resident Engagement and Data & Insight Team.
  • Support residents to access information and engagement opportunities.
  • Contribute to a positive resident experience across Housing Services.
  • Liaise with stakeholders in a way that promotes the vision and values of the Council.
  • Assisting with resident surveys and feedback collection
  • Data inputting and maintaining resident engagement records
  • Scanning and electronic filing
  • Updating housing and engagement systems
  • Email inbox monitoring
  • Maintaining engagement databases and contact lists
  • Supporting community events, meetings and resident forums

About the Apprenticeship

The apprenticeship programme combines practical work experience with structured learning to develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours required for a successful career in resident engagement, customer service and data insight.

You will receive support from both Medway Council and the training provider throughout your apprenticeship, enabling you to develop professionally whilst working towards a recognised qualification.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is enthusiastic, motivated and eager to learn
  • Has good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Enjoys working with people and building positive relationships
  • Has good organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Is comfortable using IT systems and Microsoft Office applications
  • Has an interest in customer experience, housing services, engagement and data
  • Can work effectively as part of a team
  • Is committed to delivering excellent customer service

Previous experience is not essential. We are looking for someone with the enthusiasm, willingness to learn and commitment to develop their skills and knowledge.
