About the role
The EI Benevolent Fund (EIBF) helps EI members, former members, and their dependents experiencing hardship by providing financial, educational assistance and confidential advice on legal, financial and personal issues across the globe. We are seeking additional dedicated volunteers to join our committee and support the fund's mission to assist those in need.
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of Energy Institute members while working alongside a compassionate and committed team.
Your role on the committee can be tailored to enable you use your skills to support projects that you are passionate about or help you develop news skills in areas that will support you career development.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the effective management of the fund and support its activities.
- Participate in decision-making on welfare and educational assistance applications.
- Collaborate with fellow committee members and EI staff to ensure smooth operations.
- Promote an inclusive, supportive, and transparent committee culture.
Ideal Candidate
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Enthusiastic about supporting individuals experiencing hardship.
- Empathy and discretion in handling sensitive information.
- Willingness to dedicate time to attend meetings and provide input as needed.
Commitment
- Serve a 3-year term (renewable).
- Attend 4 committee meetings per year (held virtually or in person).
- Provide ad-hoc guidance on applications and participate in discussions throughout the year.
- Willing to take leadership for delivery of projects
