As our Health & Safety Advisor, you’ll provide practical, professional advice that helps colleagues, managers, contractors and leaders keep people safe and manage risk well. You’ll support the delivery of our Health & Safety Strategy, carry out audits and inspections, strengthen our management systems, and use insight from incidents, trends and performance data to drive continuous improvement.
This is a great opportunity for a credible and solutions-focused health and safety professional who enjoys building relationships, influencing positive behaviours and making health and safety feel clear, practical and meaningful for people across the organisation.

- develop and deliver toolbox talks, briefings, campaigns and practical support materials
- use accident, incident and performance data to spot trends, improve reporting and help prevent future harm
- support emergency planning, lone working arrangements, contractor assurance and health and safety training activity
- work collaboratively across Plus Dane to promote accountability, confidence and a proactive approach to safety.
What You’ll Bring
We’re looking for someone who can combine technical knowledge with strong communication and influencing skills. You’ll bring:
- a NEBOSH General Certificate or NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Health and Safety
- practical experience of working as a qualified Health & Safety practitioner, with the ability to provide competent advice and support in a relevant organisational setting
- sound knowledge of health and safety legislation and its application in housing, construction, building maintenance or a similar environment
- experience of carrying out inspections, audits and risk assessments
- the confidence to build credibility, challenge constructively and explain complex information clearly
- strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities
- a proactive, professional and customer-focused approach, with a genuine commitment to creating safe and healthy working environments.
Why join us?
You’ll join a supportive organisation where health and safety is valued, visible and central to protecting our customers, colleagues and contractors. This is a chance to influence positive change, work with leaders across Plus Dane and use your expertise to make a real difference across our homes, offices and communities.
What you’ll get in return:
This is a permanent role working 35 hours per week. Your main base will be in Merseyside, with travel across our other office locations and sites as required.
You’ll be generously rewarded with a competitive salary and a great benefits package, including 35 days’ annual leave, plus bank holidays. This includes a 3-day Christmas closedown between Christmas and New Year and you have the option to buy up to 5 extra days annually.
You’ll also benefit from a company pension scheme where we contribute 10%, and colleagues can contribute anything from 3% upwards. We’re committed to our people’s wellbeing supported by an excellent management team, wellbeing champions, and mental health first aiders.
We actively encourage personal development, with plenty of opportunities to progress your career and access ongoing training, including formal qualifications.
