Salary Available Upon Request 6 sessions a week Salaried GP Opportunity Cwm Calon & Aberbeeg Surgeries, Abertillery4-6 Sessions | £11,000-£12,500 per Session | 2 Posts Available We're looking for two enthusiastic Salaried GPs to join our friendly and supportive team.
Following our recent expansion into Aberbeeg Medical Practice, this is an exciting time to become part of a growing, forward-thinking training practice.
You'll work alongside 4 GP Partners, 3 Salaried GPs, GP Registrars, Medical Students, Nurses, Pharmacists and a dedicated prescribing team, all committed to delivering excellent patient care. We offer formal mentoring, regular CPD, opportunities to develop special interests and teaching roles, and a genuine focus on work-life balance.
We're conveniently located just 20 minutes from Newport and 40 minutes from Cardiff. The role includes routine GP consultations, clinical administration, participation in practice meetings, and a shared contribution to the duty doctor rota.

Main duties of the job As a Salaried GP, you will play a key role in delivering compassionate, high-quality care to our patients.
You will work as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team, helping people manage their health, prevent illness and access the care they need, while contributing to the ongoing development of the practice.

Led by an enthusiastic team of GP Partners, we care for around 5,500 patients in Abertillery and, following the addition of Aberbeeg Medical Practice, a further 4,500 patients across our two sites.

The successful candidate will work as part of a team, dealing with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered patients.
In accordance with the Practice timetable, the post-holder will undertake a variety of duties including: Surgery consultations, Telephone consultations, Occasional home visits (low requirements as normally undertaken by Cluster Paramedic) Checking and signing repeat prescriptions, Reviewing results and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion.
Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation. Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems. Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
Person Specification
Experience Essential Experience working in General Practice. Excellent clinical assessment and diagnostic skills. Experience of multidisciplinary team working. Understanding of NHS primary care systems and processes. Desirable as in
Essential Criteria
Qualifications Essential MBBS, MBChB or equivalent recognised medical qualification. Full GMC registration with licence to practise. MRCGP or equivalent qualification.
