Application Manager

The Veterinary Medicines Directorate (VMD) is an Executive Agency of the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) and is responsible for ensuring the safety, quality, and efficacy of veterinary medicines in the UK.

We have a vacancy for an Application Manager.

You will be part of the Application Management Team within the Regulatory Affairs Section. You will be responsible for the overall management and co-ordination of various application procedures that are subject to published standards (targets). As the primary contact for providing procedural advice to stakeholders, both internal and external, you will be required to have (or to obtain) an in-depth knowledge of application guidelines, procedures, and processes, including the underlying legislation that underpins it all.

This is a busy role that requires you to problem solve, prioritise, and think on your feet. You will need to organise yourself and the work of your team to ensure continued delivery of business priorities.

We require someone that has experience:

• In staff management and motivation of others.
• Of working under pressure within a target driven environment or can demonstrate the ability to develop this understanding quickly.
• Of communicating change or raising awareness of a particular issues with internal and external stakeholders.
• Of working cooperatively as part of a team.

We require someone that:

• Is proactive at trouble shooting issues.
• Pays attention to detail.
• Has sound analytical skills and good judgement to inform their decisions.
• Is proficient in the use of Microsoft Office packages, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook and has the ability to learn in-house packages quickly.
