Successful applicants will be adapting and establishing our award-winning blended placement model in Nursing Care Homes and developing new placement opportunities for adult and mental health branch students.

You will be working with our experienced, dynamic and supportive Clinical Educator team at the Training Hub and alongside practice partners in Social Care and the academic team at local HEIs.

Please Note:

You will work primarily from home but will need to travel to placement venues as required.

Main duties of the job The main purpose of this role is to establish new student nurse placements in Nursing Care Homes within Cambridgeshire, Peterborough, Suffolk, Norfolk and Essex and to ensure that students have a high-quality clinical learning experience.

This involves identifying Care Homes ready to host students and working closely with Practice Assessors and Supervisors in those Homes and directly supporting the students through our digital placement days.

An important aspect of this role is to ensure students develop their clinical confidence and protect their emotional wellbeing so that they thrive both professionally and personally.

We seek to inspire and develop new supervisors, educators and learning environments and we provide workforce planning support to Practices and PCNs to meet the needs of patients.

The main purpose of this role is to increase the capacity of student nurse placements in Social Care environments across the Eastern Region and to ensure that students have a high-quality clinical learning experience. Key Roles and

Responsibilities:

• The post holder will: 1. Maintain knowledge of Registered Nurse and Nursing Associate course curriculum, proficiency and assessment requirements. 2. Build relationships with Social Care providers within the Eastern Region and promote the advantages of hosting student nurses. 3. Facilitate digital placement days and maintain relevant and up-to-date content. 4. Act as a point of contact for Practice Assessors, Practice Supervisors and students for any organisational issues that arise leading up to and during the placement. 5. Collect and interpret data to evaluate the experience of students, Practice Assessors and Practice Supervisors. Relationships The post holder will be able to: Establish strong relationships and two-way communication channels with Social Care nurses and Managers in link care homes. Work in collaboration with local HEIs and other education providers to establish and promote high quality student placements. Work collaboratively to resolve difficulties during student placements. Work collaboratively to support the delivery of apprenticeships. Sustain strong professional networks with colleagues in the Training Hub to support learning and development for nurses. Functional

Leadership In collaboration with the local HEI and the Practice Placements, develop and maintain high-quality clinical learning environments for student nurses in link Practices.

Support the development Practice Supervisors in link Practices in line with the NMC Standards for Student Supervision and Assessment (SSSA) Recruit and support the development of Practice Assessors in link Practices in line with the NMC SSSA. Proactively identify and share good practice across professional networks.

Promote Social Care as a placement opportunity and as a career of choice Take responsibility for own development of professional and leadership skills.

Support for Social Care nurses Provide peer support opportunities for Practice Assessors and Practice Supervisors in link Care Homes Identify and signpost Practice Assessors and Practice Supervisors to resources and training that supports them in their role.

Support for students and apprentices Ensure all students/apprentices allocated to a Social Care Practice placement have contact information well in advance of their start date and have a Student Nurse Placement pack. Ensure that students /apprentices have a named Practice Assessor.

Act as a point of contact for any practical issues that arise leading up to and during a placement Relevant to all Staff Act as a role model within the health community demonstrating high standards of practice and a professional attitude always.
