EQUANS is looking for a Handy Person to join our team in The Institute of Cancer Research, Sutton, London, SM2 5GP on a permanent basis. This is a full time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a salary of £30,000.00 - £33,076.36 depending on skills and experience and benefits package.

Shift times

Monday - Friday 07.00 to 16.00

What will you deliver?

• Complete all planned maintenance (PPM) and record work details accurately using the PDA.
• Keep the customer's CAFM system updated with work progress, completed tasks, and any follow-up actions.
• Complete reactive maintenance work promptly and identify areas for improvement.
• Report and record equipment failures and defects, ensuring repairs are completed quickly.
• Maintain stock of necessary spare parts and provide parts information and repair timescales when needed.
• Carry out a Point of Work Risk Assessment (POWRA) before starting work and report safety concerns.
• Follow approved Method Statements and Risk Assessments at all times..
• Work professionally and deliver services in line with customer and company standards.
• Supervise subcontractors working on site.
• Understand and meet contractual KPIs and SLAs.
• Participate in the on-call rota and attend emergency call-outs when required.
• Be flexible to work outside normal hours to support customer needs.
• Regularly inspect tools and test equipment to ensure they are safe and in date.

Who are we looking for?

• A recognised industry qualification would be desirable but not essential
• Previous experience in undertaking a similar role.
• Computer literate
• Good communicator
• Self-motivated and able to work unsupervised
• Able to work as part of a team
• Flexible and adaptable to change
• Fluent in English both written and oral.
• Must be available to participate in an out of hour’s standby rota.
