Main duties of the job As Primary Care Matron at HMP Lowdham Grange , a Category B men's prison, you'll be a key member of the leadership team, reporting to the Head of Healthcare. You'll lead a multidisciplinary team, drive service improvements, and ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and compassionate care.

You'll: Provide clinical and operational leadership to the primary care team Oversee governance, quality assurance, and service development Manage staff recruitment, supervision, and performance Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver integrated care Ensure compliance with CQC, infection control, and health & safety standards

Qualifications

Essential Registered healthcare professional with diploma/degree-level qualification Desirable Leadership training or

qualifications

Experience Essential Minimum 2 years' experience at Band 6 or equivalent Proven leadership and staff management experience Experience working across service boundaries Desirable Previous experience in prison or secure healthcare settings Security Vetting Essential The application includes evidence of the required years of UK residency to meet prison vetting standards Disclosure and Barring Service Check This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
