Teaching Assistant - Early Years

The School and Role

We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic and dedicated Early Years Worker to join a welcoming primary school in North Tyneside. This is a full-time opportunity working within a 2–3-year-old nursery provision, with a total of 37 hours per week.

The role is due to start ASAP and offers the potential to become a permanent position for the right candidate. Working as part of a supportive Early Years team, you will help to provide a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment where young children can develop their confidence, independence and early learning skills.

You will play an important role in supporting children's development through engaging, age-appropriate and play-based activities, while building positive relationships with children, colleagues and families.

The successful candidate will:

• Hold a relevant Early Years qualification suitable for working within an early years setting.
• Have a genuine passion for supporting and developing young children.
• Be caring, patient and nurturing in their approach.
• Understand the importance of creating a safe, stimulating and inclusive environment.
• Be confident working as part of a wider Early Years team.
• Have a good understanding of children's development and the needs of 2–3-year-olds.

The working pattern will be 37 hours per week, with shifts falling between 7:30am and 5:00pm. The shift pattern will remain consistent each week, providing a good level of predictability.

This is an excellent opportunity for an Early Years professional looking for a full-time role within a supportive primary school, with the potential for the position to become permanent.

Requirements

The desired Teaching Assistant will:

• Have experience of working within EYFS.
• Hold a Level 2 Teaching Qualification relevant to EYFS or above.
• Have an ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Have a friendly and enthusiastic personality.
• Have an ability to offer differentiated learning and support pupils with SEND.
