The role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic and motivated Health Visitors to join our Renfrewshire HSCP Children and Families Teams. These posts are available across a variety of locations throughout Renfrewshire, with a range of working patterns and hours available Monday to Friday.

Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:

  • Monday to FridayKey responsibilities:
  • Manage and coordinate a designated caseload of children from birth to school entry, ensuring their health and wellbeing needs are assessed and supported
  • Deliver the Universal Health Visiting Pathway through planned interventions, developmental assessments and health promotion activities
  • Build strong partnerships with families, empowering them through a strengths-based approach and providing expert guidance on parenting and child development
  • Work collaboratively with health, social care, education and third-sector partners to develop, implement and review child plans
  • Identify, assess and respond to safeguarding, child protection and wellbeing concerns, ensuring appropriate action is taken when required
  • Maintain high standards of clinical practice, information governance and professional accountability in line with NMC requirements
  • Contribute to service improvement, quality assurance, mentorship and the ongoing development of the wider Children and Families teamKnowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job: j
  • Registered Nurse or Midwife educated to degree level or equivalent
  • Post-registration qualification in Health Visiting/Public Health Nursing with registration on Part 3 of the NMC Register
  • Educated to Master's level in a relevant nursing discipline or able to demonstrate an equivalent level of knowledge and professional development
  • Sound knowledge of safeguarding, early intervention, child protection and health and social care pathways for children and families
  • Experience managing a caseload and prioritising workload effectively to meet competing demands and deadlines
  • Ability to assess risk, make complex professional decisions and provide expert advice within multi-agency environments
