Job Summary:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Practice Educator to join the Acute Practice Education and Development team based at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. This role provides senior educational support to a range of clinical areas, and staff groups, in addition to supporting students on placement, working in partnership with further and higher education institutions. The role will support the delivery of NHS Grampian’s organisational priorities through a range of practice development and education work streams.

The post holder will be primarily aligned to critical care inpatient environments such; the intensive care unit, cardiac intensive care, surgical high dependency and the hyperbaric unit.

We are seeking a dynamic, highly motivated and forward-thinking individual focused on enabling safe, effective, person-centred practice.

Applicants should be a Registered Nurse with current Nursing and Midwifery Council registration and:

• Have extensive experience in critical care, with a post-registration critical care qualification or equivalent and a post-graduate qualification in education, teaching and/or learning at SCQF level 11 or equivalent
• Current experience within a practice education role, with experience of facilitating and working in a learning environment and supporting the development, delivery and evaluation of learning using diverse approaches to facilitating learning
• Have significant knowledge of the educational pathways, and requirements, within critical care
• Demonstrate the ability to motivate and influence change using highly developed interpersonal skills and change methodologyThe post holder will report to the Lead Practice Educator, and provide leadership and management within the education team.
