Road Safety Education Technician

What will your day look like?

As a Technician in the Road Safety Education team, you’ll play an important part in keeping our highways and transport networks safe. Working with people from all ages and backgrounds you'll help support the Road Safety team to plan and deliver engagement, promotional and training events across North East Lincolnshire.

This is a varied role where you’ll work with engineers, road safety professionals, senior technicians and other colleagues across the service. Some days may be more desk-based, working with systems and records. Other days will involve getting out across North East Lincolnshire speaking to people about road safety. Occasional weekend and evening work may be required to attend meetings or deliver attend events. 

It’s a brilliant opportunity for someone who is organised, curious and keen to build their knowledge and skills in education or public engagement in a new setting. 

Who are we looking for?

We’re looking for someone who is outgoing, enjoys working as part of a team and takes pride in getting the detail right. 

You don’t need to know everything from day one. What matters is that you have the right attitude and confidence to be able to engage with people can collect and record information accurately, manage your workload with support, use systems confidently and communicate clearly with colleagues and customers. 

Some experience in a technical, administrative or public facing role would be helpful, especially if you’ve worked in an education or training setting. An interest in highways, transport, or the built environment would also be an advantage. 

Most importantly, we’re looking for someone with a positive attitude, a willingness to develop and a genuine interest in supporting services that make a difference to everyday life in North East Lincolnshire.
