Join our Development & Project Management Team at L&Q!

We are looking for a Senior Development Manager who is innovative, commercially focused, risk conscious, and an experienced problem solver, to join the team and help us to deliver our ambitious plans.

The Senior Development Manager focuses on our cladding remediation projects with developers and our In House Build team. You’ll need to be proficient in foreseeing risk, problem solving and finding suitable solutions rapidly, while considering the financial and commercial impact.

• Are you an experienced senior project manager with a strong track record in housing-led cladding or other remediation, or s106 delivery?
• Do you have substantial knowledge of contract law, cladding remediation requirements, and the ability to manage internal and external stakeholders.
• Do you have experience of delivering excellent governance compliance?

Your Impact in the Role:

• Project Leadership & Delivery: Manage a portfolio of housing-led remediation projects from inception to completion, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
• Strategic Development & Planning: Contribute to business case development, and the production of detailed project plans and risk registers.
• Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and external partners including developers, consultants and Homes England.
• Financial & Risk Management: Take responsibility for project budgets, ensuring effective financial control and best value. Identify and mitigate risks, ensuring compliance with Build Safety Regulator Gateways, funding, and legal obligations.
• Team Leadership & Compliance: Manage and support project staff, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. Ensure compliance with health and safety, regulatory, and governance standards.

What You’ll Bring:

To excel in this role, you'll need:
• Project Management Expertise: Strong experience managing complex remediation or development projects in housing, with a proven ability to deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
• Strategic & Commercial Acumen: Skilled in financial planning, risk management, and quality contro , with a focus on delivering high-quality, cost-effective outcomes.
• Stakeholder & Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to influence and negotiate at all levels internally and externally.
• Technical Knowledge: knowledge of contractual law, planning, development control, and construction practices. Professional qualifications (e.g. RICS, CIOB, RTPI, RIBA) are useful but not essential subject to having equivalent experience.
• IT Proficiency: Confident using Microsoft Office and business systems, development appraisals with strong coordination and multitasking abilities.
• Customer & Community Focus: A commitment to customer satisfaction and experience working in customer-facing environments.
