Location
Bristol, Swansea, Leeds, Nottingham, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Oldham (Chadderton), Birmingham(Garretts Green) or Uxbridge/Yeading.
You can be based at any of the above locations, however if your chosen location is Yeading/Uxbridge please note:
This role is advertised as being based in Uxbridge; however, the contractual base will be Yeading.
While estate works are being carried out at the Yeading site, all roles will be temporarily located in Uxbridge. Successful applicants will therefore begin their employment at the Uxbridge location.
Please be aware that all employees will be required to work from the Yeading site once it reopens in 2028.
Employees based at Uxbridge will receive a London Weighting allowance of £4,000. This allowance will continue when the location moves to Yeading.

Job summary
This role will work with in the within the Digital & Data Directorate within the Delivery and Services Team.
You will lead multi-disciplinary and matrix managed teams across Tech Services specifically in Infrastructure and User Services. You will deliver small scale changes to existing technology, or the introduction of new technology. These projects could include Tech Refresh and business application implementation.
Successful delivery will be underpinned by ensuring in-scope business requirements are delivered within time constraints. This is a critical role in the context of building sustainable capability to operate, support and improve technology services.

Job description
Your responsibilities will include, but aren’t limited to:
- Demonstrate effective delivery management skills to multi-task within tight deadlines.
- Communicate effectively and clearly between the technical and non-technical partners/stakeholders. Support / host discussions within a multidisciplinary team.
- Determine and plan their team requirements, including allocating resources and prioritising activities, over the short to medium term by fully understanding the business environment in which the team operates, the overall team objectives, ensuring their team fully understands and works to these requirements.
- Work in collaboration with other managers across all functions for the good of DVSA and to create a high performing and well-respected Agency.
- Provide project support for larger sized projects such as chasing and updating action owners for action point logs, risk logs etc. Secretariat support such as minutes and output notes. Leading on small but defined strands of work contained within a larger project.

Person specification
To be successful in this role you will need to have the following experience:
- Experience of working in a medium complexity project team or work stream lead for a small low complex project.
- Practised knowledge of planning, resource management, risk and issues management, governance, assurance, budget controls and requirements management.
- Strong negotiation skills and a proven ability to influence external partners, stakeholders and customers to achieve successful outcomes for the business.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and develop networks and relationships across teams and other business areas.
Additional Information
Working hours, office attendance and travel requirements
Full time roles consist of 37 hours per week.
Whilst we welcome applications from those looking to work with us on a part time basis, there is a business requirement for the successful candidate to be able to work at least 30 hours per week.
Occasional travel to other offices will be required, which may involve overnight stays.
This role is suitable for hybrid working, which is a non-contractual arrangement where a combination of workplace and home-based working can be accommodated subject to business requirements.
The expectation at present is a minimum of 60% of your working time a month will be spent at either your designated workplace (one of the locations cited in the advert) or, when required for business reasons, in another office/work location. There may be occasions where you are required to attend above the minimum expectation.

The selection process for this role will be:
- Stage 1: Online Test

You must be successful at each stage to progress to the next stage.
Stage 1: Online test
At this stage, you will be assessed against the following Success Profile elements:

Our online test supplier will be performing scheduled maintenance between 4pm and midnight on 27th September 2026. You will be unable to access tests during this period.

Stage 2: Sift
