- What you would do
Typical responsibilities could include:
- Managing daily site operations, including labour scheduling, material coordination and equipment deployment
- Supervising site teams and subcontractors to ensure work meets quality, safety and programme standards
- Conducting toolbox talks, site inductions and safety briefings in line with SMSTS and health and safety requirements
- Monitoring site progress against the programme and reporting status to the project manager
- Maintaining site documentation, including daily reports, timesheets and compliance records
- Implementing and enforcing site safety protocols, including incident reporting and corrective actions
- Liaising with clients, architects and other stakeholders to manage expectations and resolve issues
- Ensuring compliance with relevant building regulations, planning conditions and site-specific requirements
- What you could bring
Most roles of this type require the following:
- SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certification or equivalent health and safety qualification
- Proven experience as a Site Supervisor or Construction Supervisor on medium to large-scale projects
- Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practice in construction
- Experience coordinating multiple trades and managing subcontractor teams
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications and programmes
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage stakeholders at all levels
- Proficiency with site documentation and basic IT systems
- First Aid at Work certification (desirable)
- Driving licence and willingness to travel within London
