Typical responsibilities could include:

  • Managing day-to-day site operations and coordinating activity across trades and subcontractors
  • Maintaining health, safety and environmental compliance on site, including site inductions and toolbox talks
  • Monitoring project progress against timelines and budgets, reporting status to project leadership
  • Ensuring quality standards are met and managing defect rectification
  • Liaising with clients, architects, engineers and other stakeholders on site matters
  • Managing site resources, materials and equipment effectively
  • Maintaining site documentation, records and compliance with relevant regulations

Most roles of this type require the following:

  • Proven experience as a Site Manager or Site Supervisor on construction projects
  • Strong knowledge of health, safety and environmental regulations (SMSTS or equivalent desirable)
  • Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating multiple trades
  • Familiarity with construction planning, budgeting and project controls
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Relevant qualifications such as CSDR, QMS or First Aid (desirable)
