• What you would do

Typical responsibilities could include:

• Designing and developing control system solutions using industry-standard tools and platforms
• Integrating APIs, microservices and distributed systems architecture into control system implementations
• Working with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS or GCP to build scalable, reliable automation solutions
• Collaborating on CI/CD pipeline development to improve deployment efficiency and system reliability
• Contributing to system testing, validation and troubleshooting across development and production environments
• Supporting documentation and adherence to technical standards such as ISO 9001
• Working within Linux and Windows environments as required by project scope

Most roles of this type require the following:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent professional experience
• Solid technical foundation in control systems design and implementation
• Working knowledge of at least one of the following: .NET, ASP.NET, Java, Spring Boot or Python
• Experience with containerisation and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Familiarity with version control, CI/CD practices and modern development workflows
• Understanding of data quality, SQL and basic data pipeline concepts
• Ability to work effectively in collaborative, cross-functional teams
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to technical detail

Nice-to-have skills include experience with SAP systems (S/4HANA, ECC or RISE), Power BI for monitoring and visualisation, Terraform for infrastructure, or knowledge of security frameworks such as CSDR and DMZ architecture.
